This highly respected Community Medical Center is seeking a Director of Compliance to lead a mission-driven compliance program that protects patients, clinicians, and the organization. The Director of Compliance will thrive in a collaborative environment that values integrity, transparency, and practical, solutions-oriented guidance.
The Director of Compliance will serve at a Community Medical Center featuring comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, 24/7 emergency care, and a culture of continuous improvement supported by an accredited quality and safety framework. This Director of Compliance will join an organization recognized for rural health excellence, engaged medical staff leadership, and strong board governance. The Director of Compliance will find a setting that balances innovation, stewardship, and patient-centered care.
The Director of Compliance reports to the Chief Executive Officer, partners closely with the Executive Team, and maintains direct access to the Board of Directors for matters requiring escalation. The Director of Compliance provides leadership to the Compliance Committee and may oversee roles such as Privacy Officer and compliance analysts, while collaborating with Risk Management, Internal Audit, HIM, Quality, Legal, and IT Security. The Director of Compliance is an independent, trusted advisor who provides unbiased information to support leadership decision-making across the enterprise.
The Director of Compliance will guide an enterprise-wide compliance program that spans acute care, ambulatory clinics, and ancillary services, with a scalable team structure aligned to organizational needs. The Director of Compliance will steward a professional, supportive, and proactive program culture that includes a confidential hotline, robust education and training, policy management, auditing and monitoring, and coordinated issue resolution. The Director of Compliance will work shoulder-to-shoulder with high-caliber clinicians, administrators, and technical experts committed to doing the right thing the right way.
The Director of Compliance will design, maintain, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and training to meet regulatory, accreditation, and industry standards; mentor leaders and staff on compliance competencies; and drive organization-wide quality and safety alignment. The Director of Compliance will lead risk assessments, audits, and fair, non-accusatory investigations; ensure confidential handling of concerns; monitor corrective action plans; and present clear, unbiased reports and recommendations to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board. The Director of Compliance will coordinate the Compliance Committee in analyzing organizational risk, assessing controls, and monitoring effectiveness, while managing work plans, budgets, and vendor partnerships. The Director of Compliance is not the organizational decision maker; instead, the role supplies objective information for informed decisions. Please note: this Director of Compliance job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities; duties and activities may change at any time.
The Director of Compliance will enjoy a region known for year-round outdoor adventure—think high-desert trails, blue-ribbon fishing, nearby slopes, river sports, and endless sunshine—balanced by a friendly, close-knit community vibe 🏔️. The Director of Compliance will appreciate short commute times, an attainable cost of living compared to major metros, and a growing local food and arts scene. The Director of Compliance can savor a lifestyle where professional impact pairs naturally with work-life balance and room to roam.
The Director of Compliance will receive Competitive Compensation and Generous Benefits, with the opportunity to make a measurable impact on patient safety, organizational integrity, and community trust. The Director of Compliance will shape a resilient compliance culture that safeguards care today and strengthens the organization for tomorrow.
