Position Overview
The GIS Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Walmart Canada's strategic initiatives through geospatial analysis. This position involves managing spatial data, performing advanced analytics, and creating visualizations to inform decisions in real estate, supply chain, and market planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, manage, and maintain geospatial datasets from internal and external sources.
- Perform spatial analysis to identify trends and support business strategies.
- Develop maps, dashboards, and reports for stakeholders using GIS tools and BI platforms.
- Integrate GIS data with enterprise systems and analytics platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Real Estate, and Supply Chain.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial databases (SQL).
- Experience with Python scripting for geospatial automation.
- Strong analytical and visualization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 5 years of experience in GIS analysis or related roles.
- Exposure to retail or supply chain domains.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI).
