Job Description

Job Summary: The Locum Tenens Dentist provides high-quality dental care on a temporary basis in various dental practices, including clinics, hospitals, or private offices. This role is essential to maintain seamless patient care while the permanent dentist is unavailable due to leave, vacation, or while a full-time position is being filled.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, and preventive care.
• Diagnose and treat oral diseases and conditions, ensuring appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer local anesthesia and sedatives for patient comfort during procedures.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care to ensure long-term health.
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment plans, and case notes.
• Work collaboratively with dental hygienists, assistants, and office staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Adhere to all legal, safety, and regulatory requirements in the practice of dentistry.
• Manage patient flow and ensure that all appointments are handled in an efficient and timely manner.
• Adapt to various dental practice environments and technologies quickly.

Qualifications:

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
• Valid and active dental license in the state of practice.
• Current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration (if applicable).
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience with all aspects of general dentistry.
