Key Responsibilities - Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding updates, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist in the training and education of staff on coding practices and procedures.
- Conduct audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding.
- Support billing and reimbursement processes by providing accurate coding information.
Requirements Skills and Qualifications: - Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficient in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
