Job Description
The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of thenursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. TheSchool RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of studentswithin the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promotingthe health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronicconditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff andhealthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis'philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state ofemployment
+ Bachelor's Degree, preferred
+ School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
+ One year of school nursing, public health or pediatricexperience, preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ LPNs and RNs need to have 1-2+ years of recent peds experience
